Overseas Assessment Panel (OQAP)

The Overseas Qualifications Assessment Panel (OQAP) was established in order to assess the qualifications and professional training of individuals seeking to practise in Australia and applying on the basis of overseas qualifications and training.

There is an agreement between the AIR and the Federal Government for the AIR to be the assessing authority for all overseas qualified radiographers, radiation therapists and sonographers seeking migration and the ability to work within these professions in Australia. This panel is responsible for ensuring overseas qualified individuals have an equivalent academic and clinical practice standard to Australian qualified professionals.

OQAP membership includes representatives from medical imaging, radiation therapy, sonography and academic professionals.
