CPD Program - Revisons on Hold

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS AND CPD-PARTICIPANTS (JANUARY 2012)

The CPD Program (revision as released in June 2011) is currently on hold with a full review and additional information regarding any proposed changes will be circulated to members for comment.

The new program is anticipated to be released as a pilot program at the 9th ASMMIRT in Sydney 2012. This will reflect the new regulatory requirements of the National Registration Board which will commence on 1 July 2012.

Until the program changes, please continue with the present scheme of accrual of 12 credits per annum / 36 credits per triennium.

For members who have utilised the previous and also current credit framework as available for lodgement in the system, all credits will remain in your records.

The original credit recognition framework has been reinstated to record at the rate of  CATEGORY A credits at 1 credit per hour, or as stipulated in the CPD Guide and on the logo of meeting/seminar/workshop/conference attended.

All CATEGORY B credits are accrued at 0.5 credits per hour.

DoHA Grants RT ASMMIRT 2012-13

The Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing is supporting Radiation Therapy students and Radiation Therapy presenters to attend our conferences in 2012 and 2013.

The Radiation Therapy Advisory Panel (RTAP) is calling for applications for grants to assist either radiation therapy students seeking to attend, or Radiation Therapy practitioners presenting papers at the 2012 ASMMIRT in Sydney.

There are 90 student grants available and 45 RT presenter grants. If you are interested and are an RT student please send an email to conferences@air.asn.au with the title ‘Support for Attendance; Radiation Therapy Stream - Student‘ and a brief explanation as to how this grant will assist you to attend ASMMIRT.

Varian Award 2012

2012 Varian Award for Achievement for Radiation Therapists

Varian Medical Systems are the generous sponsors of the prestigious Varian Award, which is presented annually to a Radiation Therapist who has contributed significantly to their profession.

The Award consists of a commemorative plaque and a monetary Travel Award. Radiation therapists who have been a member of the AIR for a minimum of 5 years are eligible. A candidate may be nominated by others or choose to self-nominate.
